Housed in the stately former Bellevue Hotel, our daycare employs a close-knit and loyal team of education and childcare professionals. Our youngest infants find for example peace in one of the hanging cribs in their group, because the gentle rocking back and forth offers comfort and security. Every child has different needs, and we like to take that into account. We want to know them, because we feel this is important, as we seek to accommodate the different needs of each individual child.
We believe in promoting self-reliance and independence among our younger and older toddlers. For example, the toddlers who still take naps do so in our “sleep theater,” where they each have their own dedicated place on their own mattress. And if one of the kids wakes up, we encourage them to make their own way to the group, where they also get to put their clothes back on themselves. Once they’ve woken up from their naps, we transform the sleep theater into an exercise space complete with climbing equipment. But if they’re more in the mood for dancing on some days, their wish is our command.
Parents and children both tend to take an instant liking to our garden, where the children can horse around in the laurel forest or ride their bikes through the maze of beech hedges. Of course, they can also sleep quietly and soundly in the outdoor beds provided for this purpose. Did you know sleeping in the fresh air has numerous health benefits?
You will find our location close to the Princenhage town center, with good connections to the A16 highway.

Exercise area/central hall
Children like to move and a lot, because in this way they discover their bodies in a playful way. We can transform our sleep theater into a special exercise area with all kinds of challenging materials, such as climbing equipment and ball games. This way everyone can always lose their energy.
-
Large garden
Our large green garden really invites children to explore and play. The playhouse, climbing and clambering in the laurel bushes, the maze of the beech hedge where you can cycle through, everything ensures that a child is invited to explore and play.
-
Outside sleeping
Taking our cue from the Scandinavian child-rearing model, children also sleep outside: really healthy! Sleeping outdoors has many advantages including fewer colds and children sleep more peacefully, deeper and for longer.

Sleep theater
One of our aims is to promote infant and toddler self-reliance. For example, the toddlers who still take naps do so in our “sleep theater,” where they each have their own dedicated place on their own mattress. And when they wake up we encourage them to get dressed themselves.

Older toddlers
Our older toddler group focuses on each toddler’s specific developmental needs. We aim to promote self-reliance and challenge them to do as much for themselves as possible, as that will be really useful when they start school!
On our childcare center, we have horizontal groups
Every child lives in a world where everything impresses – and everything has an impact. That is why we work with horizontal groups at our childcare locations.
Our childcare through the eyes of a parent
We’re so pleased that we picked Kindergarden Princenhage as daycare center for our son. As well as the fact that the building and the furnishings give such a feeling of peace and calm, and that the method they use is a good match for our parenting style, the staff is incredibly professional, loving and caring. The varied hot lunches and beautiful garden are also plus points. I’d really recommend this daycare center to everyone!

Frequently asked questions about our childcare
To increase the chances of securing a spot, we recommend enrolling your child as soon as possible at our childcare. We take your preferences into account during our planning and strive to fulfill your wishes to the best of our ability.
That depends on various factors including preferred days, how many days you need, and how flexible you are. For example, the likelihood of a placement becoming available for one day is greater than three or four days becoming available in one go. The more flexible you are as a parent, the greater the likelihood that we will be able to offer you a place.
If you’re seeking a place quickly, we’d be happy to look at the options available in our schedule. At the busier locations, we often work approximately four months ahead, so it can take some time before you hear from us. If there’s a waiting list, we rely on cancellations/schedule changes for new places to become available.
Are you pregnant and looking for a place in the longer term? We have horizontal groups at Kindergarden and this affects how far ahead we can plan. Horizontal means that children move on to the next group at a certain time. As we take a child’s development and age and the days that a child spends at the daycare center into account, we plan four to six months ahead, depending on how busy the center is. A schedule can also change a lot. Factors that influence this include registration of siblings (they are given priority), schedule changes for children who already have a placement (switching days or increasing the number of days), and cancellations.
